Traditional Thai Massage
The theoretical foundation of Thai Massage is based on the concept of subtle energy lines running through the body, very similar to acupuncture theory. It is believed that life energy (qi) is absorbed through the food we eat and the air we breathe. It travels through the body along a network of energy lines called meridians. It supplies an individual with an unlimited amount of energy. A disturbance of that energy flow results in an insufficient supply of qi in certain areas of the body which in turn, manifests itself into ill health.
What can Thai Massage
do for you? Thai Massage was
actually developed by Buddhist monks in
Thailand as a healing modality 2,500 years
ago. Thai massage is an excellent discipline
for restoring health and balance to your life
and has the following benefits:
|
Thai Massage is
performed on a mat situated on the floor in
order to achieve maximum benefits from
weight, leverage, balance and gravity.
Clients wear loose comfortable clothing.
Gentle pressure and compression stimulates
internal organs, relaxes tense muscles and
calms the nervous system. Passive stretching
adjusts the skeletal structure, increases
flexibility, and restores movement. Deep
energy healing and meditation stimulate the
flow of energies in the body, opening the
areas which are blocked, bringing the body,
mind and spirit into balance and harmony.
